CODE OF CONDUCT
Last updated: October 22, 2026
ON COURSE
Be on time.
Be kind and patient with others and with yourself.
Only give feedback when you're asked to.
With us, you'll learn both roles. This fosters an inclusive dance community that transcends traditional gender roles, makes you more flexible, and gives you a better understanding of dance.
TO THE PARTIES
Treat everyone with respect.
You can say no to a dance. A "no" is always accepted.
Dance as many or as few dances with one person as you like.
Anyone can lead, follow, or switch. Don't make assumptions about a person's gender, and don't base your actions on their gender.
Dance in a way that's appropriate for the dance floor. If you bump into someone, apologize and ask if they're okay.
AT ANY TIME
Be friendly, polite, and respectful.
Misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, racist, and other discriminatory remarks will not be tolerated.
We do not tolerate harassment, violence, or behavior that endangers others. We reserve the right to remove individuals from the festival without a refund.
If you see or hear something that bothers you or others, please talk to us or email info@baseljitterbugs.ch. This also applies if it involves a teacher.
