FAQ

  • It's very simple, the registration process works as follows:

    1. Click on Register now, fill out the registration form and send us your registration*.

    2. Depending on the type of your application:

    • If you have registered with a partner and we have also received your partner's registration, we will send both of you a separate payment link, which must be paid within 5 days.

    • If you have registered without a partner, we will put you on the waiting list. As soon as we are able to assign you a partner, you will receive a payment link which must be paid within 5 days.

    • You will then automatically receive your ticket and can look forward to the Delight.

    • At the check-in at the event you will receive your wristband for the workshop and the parties.

*When you register, we will ask you questions about your dance experience and interests. Just go with your gut feeling and if you're not sure, let us know in the comments section. Based on the answers and the registrations received, we will form groups that match in experience and interest.

If you feel that you are not in the right group during the workshop, please contact us or our teachers and we will organize a level change if possible. Please note that our teachers have the right to change your level if they deem it necessary.

To ensure a good learning experience, we will limit the number of tickets per level. We recommend that you register early to secure your place. You can register with or without a partner, but it is advisable to find a partner in advance to increase your chances of getting a place.

  • We try to create an even Leader-/follower ratio at the festival.

    • We recommend that you register with a dance partner.

    • Individual registration is possible. You will first be placed on the waiting list until we can assign you a partner.

    • If you are on the waiting list and later find a dance partner, please ask them to add you as a partner so that you can be paired up.

At beginner level you learn both roles and do not need a partner. However, you can of course still register with someone.

  • Payment can be made by Mastercard, Visacard, Card Bancaires, Apple Pay or Google Pay and must be completed within 5 days of receiving the payment information. If not otherwise possible, payment can also be made by invoice. Do you have any questions or problems with the payment? Please contact us at info@baseljitterbugs.ch.

  • You have sent your registration but can't make it?

    • If you have not yet paid, you can cancel your ticket by sending us an e-mail. Please do this immediately so that we can give your place to someone else.

    • If you have already paid for your ticket, the following applies:

      • Up to 2 weeks before the event: Let us know and we will try to find a replacement. If we find someone, we will refund your payment, minus a 25% administration fee. If we cannot find someone, we cannot grant a refund.

      • From 2 weeks before the event we can unfortunately no longer look for a replacement.

    Our Terms & Conditions.

  • Single tickets will be offered approximately one month before the event, if available.

  • There is no registration with levels at the Delight Festivals. Instead, we ask questions about your dance experience and interests. When registering, you can indicate your previous experience, for example:

    • 0: No or little experience of a crash course or workshop.

    • 1: Have been dancing for several months (up to a year) in weekly classes.

    • 2: Dancing for 1-2 years in a weekly class, confident in the basics and at medium speed.

    • 3: Have been dancing regularly for several years in a weekly class, even at a fast pace.

    • 4: Been dancing for 4+ years, wide repertoire, adapt well to music & partner. My style is rhythmic & varied.

    • 5: No speed scares me. I take part in international workshops at the highest level, take part in competitions and teach locally.

On this basis, we determine the groups, content and timetable together with our teachers. If you are not sure what to choose, write to us at info@baseljitterbugs.ch.

If you feel that you are not in the right group during the workshop, please contact our teachers or us and we will organize a level change if possible.

Please note that our teachers have the right to change your group if they deem it necessary.

  • In our weekly courses and at our festivals, you consciously learn both roles - Leader and Follower - from the very beginning. Our concept is based on the idea that understanding both roles will make you a more versatile and confident dancer. It improves your technique, strengthens your connection to your dance partners and deepens your understanding of dance.

A common thought is that Leader and Follower are tied to gender roles - that men must lead and women must follow. In reality, dancing has nothing to do with such stereotypes. Anyone can learn both roles, regardless of gender, personality or previous experience. Many participants report that by experiencing the other role, they not only have more fun, but also understand their own role better.

We in the team also usually started with a classic division of roles. However, by consciously learning the other role, we have gained a new level of understanding and flexibility - an experience that we would like to share with you.
