Sustainability Fund

Last change: November 2023

Our international dance scene is a wonderful place to enjoy life and express yourself through dance. But we can do even better! We are the most privileged people on this planet, even if it sometimes doesn't feel like it. Let's take a moment to show gratitude and give a little back to the community, the planet and the African American culture that created these beautiful dances. Please donate whatever you can and share the joy!

Together we can make Delights and other international festivals more sustainable.

The FONDS

  • As a starting budget, we have the fund value after our last Delight.

  • With every workshop ticket sold, we add CHF 5 to the fund.

  • We know that some are able to give more than others. If you would like to support this project even more, you can make a donation of your choice here.

THE BENEFIT

1. give something back to the planet

Our comfortable way of traveling and consuming has its price. Let's take a moment to realize that we need to offset what we "take away" from the earth. Read more about climate, lifestyle choices and the difference offsetting CO2 can make here. We donate to two organizations that are recognized by The Founders Pledge as particularly efficient: Coalition for the Rainforest Nations and Clean Air Task Force.

2. GIVING something back to African-American culture

3. for local and international dancers in less fortunate situations

  • If this is you, please register using the form and send us an e-mail to info@baseljitterbugs.ch.

  • Please include a brief description of your situation and, if possible, tell us how much you can contribute. We will do our best to help.

We will let you know how we have distributed the money after the event. Thank you very much for your support!

Inspired by our friends from the Upside Down Festival and LouisLou.
